How one-to-ones work at Opportunity English

I offer both 30 minute and 45 minute one to one lessons to better fit in with your busy schedule. The topic of the lesson will be decided by us together, and then I will design enjoyable and appropriate activities so that you can learn what you need to.

Examples might come from your hobby, statistics from new developments in your industry, and I’ll help you identify your strengths and work on your weaknesses. I promise authentic materials designed specifically for you.

Grammar

Troubled by tenses? Perplexed by pronouns? Try grammar focused lesson for a clear explanation of rules and fun exercises to help them stick in your mind.

Best for you if:
• There’s a specific area of Grammar you just don’t understand
• Its been a long time since you studied and you need a reminder of the rules.

Speaking

Frazzled by phrasal verbs? Vexed by vocabulary? Speaking focused lessons give you the words and phrases you need to talk confidently about a topic

Best for you if:
• You have a good understanding of grammar but your vocabulary is lacking
• You want to learn about a very specific topic
• You’re uncertain of speaking in front of others and want to boost your confidence.

Reading and Writing

Embarrassed about emails? Anxious about articles? Reading and writing focused lessons help you with the structures and techniques you need to make reading and writing in English much easier

Best for you if:
• You have to communicate with others in English through writing (emails, reports, articles etc) and you want to make sure you’re using the appropriate tone and phrasing.
• You have to read a lot in English and you want to make sure you’re getting all the information you can from a book, report or article.

I booked my first lesson, what happens next?

Great, I can’t wait to meet you. You should receive a form asking about your needs and levels. It would be helpful if you could fill it in before the lesson. Other than that, please arrive at your chosen online platform on time and ready to learn.

What will the first lesson be like?

For the first part of the lesson, we’ll get to know each other, then in the second part we’ll work on your chosen topic.

What if I don’t know what to work on?

I’ll choose something based on the information I have about you and job. If you decide to have more lessons I’ll send you a list of suggested topics to help you choose in the future.

I want to book more lessons, how?

That’s brilliant! You can book single lessons at the link and choose your own time or buy a package HERE and I’ll be in touch about scheduling

Can I cancel the lesson?

I understand emergencies happen, so as long as you contact me before the lesson starts we can reschedule for free. However, I reserve the right to charge you if you don’t let me know or you start to cancel regularly.

How long will you wait if I’m late?

15 minutes, as that’s how long I can wait without affecting other lessons. No shows will be charged.
